In the composer, click First name (or last name, full name, email) to drop a merge field into your message:
"Hey {first_name}, your usual table's open Friday, want it?"
Every contact gets their own name filled in. If a contact has no name saved, the field is dropped cleanly so the message still reads right ("Hey, your usual table's open…").
Billing stays honest: each person's message is charged on its actual final length.
